Casal de S. Simão

The street descends by a ridge of Lousã Sierra and ends on a slope which overlooks the valley. On one side and on the other, there are stone built houses bearing pots of colourful flowers and vines that partially cover the walls of quartzite.

Of medieval origin, Casal de São Simão is a very small village situated in the centre of the country, preserving the characteristics of an isolated mountain village.

A walk through S. Simão is the closest you will be Portugal’s origins.
