Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda.

  1. This agreement establishes the terms and conditions of Essência de Latitude, Turismo Lda, tax number 513 541 314, Turismo de registro Portugal: RNAAT 465/2015 and RNAVT 7104.
  2. Our activity is based on historical and cultural aspects, showing a multifaceted Portugal, with experiences full of rich influences that have created a unique essence. We position ourselves in the market as a company that makes the whole known and provides tourists with an experience of competence and personalization.
  3. Special Conditions take precedence over General Conditions; additional stipulations agreed between the Client and Essência do Latitude, Turismo Lda. take precedence over both. The services and products are offered to customers under the Terms and Conditions expressed in this document.

By booking a Tour, the participant guarantees that he/she has read these Terms and Conditions and agrees to be bound by them and all other terms (and conditions of Essência do Latitude, Turismo Lda. referred to in brochures, advertisements and website).

  1. User Obligations and Responsibilities

When using or visiting the website with the domain www.essenciadalatitude.com or the information, data files, written text, graphics, links, audio and sound files, photographs, videos and other images, resources and services made available through the site, the user, whether as a participant or visitor, agrees and accepts the terms of use and data protection policy available on this site.

This website is owned by Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda., registered with Turismo de Portugal under the numbers RNAAT 465/2015 and RNAVT 7104.

Under no circumstances should the user use the site for any purpose other than its intended purpose. Any use for illegal purposes or any other purpose that could be considered detrimental to the company’s image is strictly forbidden. Plagiarism and forgery are also expressly forbidden. These are crimes that are punishable by law.

The user must not create or place any type of virus on the website.

  1. Intellectual Property

The images on website www.essenciadalatitude.com are the property of Essência da Latitude Turismo Lda.

The user may not modify, rent, lend, sell, distribute or create any work derived from the content of the website Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. website, either partially or totally, except with the written consent of the company.

  1. Tours

The tours are by Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda.

All tours and services offered by Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. are valid according to the information displayed, and the agency cannot be held responsible for any information it does not provide directly.

Tours are conducted in different vehicles (car or van) depending on the number of people to be transported.

Our tours exclusively include what is defined on the respective page on website the Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda website.

  1. Prices

The prices quoted by Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. are per person. Prices are based on the local rate and are subject to change at the initiative of Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda.

Prices do not include entrance tickets to museums, shows and meals, except where expressly indicated on the tour page.

The prices quoted on the Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. website already reflect value added tax (VAT) at the current rate.

  1. Payment and Reservation Policy

Payment is made in a secure session in the Essência da Latitude store, available on the website, using VISA and Mastercard credit cards, debit cards or by bank transfer, after which proof of payment will be sent.

Bookings for One-Day and Half-Day tours must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. does not guarantee availability for reservations made within 24 hours prior to the tour.

Tour bookings must be made at least 30 days before the tour takes place. Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. does not guarantee availability for reservations made in the 30 days prior to the tour.

To guarantee the booking of one or more tours, 100% payment is required when the service is booked.

Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. reserves the right to deem any reservation void if payment has not been made under the above conditions.

Tailor-made tours have a validity period of 15 days. After this time, the price may change several times.

Once the reservation has been made and payment has been made in full, the customer will receive a voucher, to the email address they provided when registering, which will contain all the basic details of the reservation.

  1. Special Conditions for Children

Given the diversity of conditions applied to children, depending on their age, we recommend that clients ask about any special conditions that may exist, depending on the situation.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians and carry all the documentation required by law.

Minors between the ages of 16 and 18 traveling alone will need, in addition to their identity document, a permit from their parents or legal guardians allowing them to leave/enter Portugal, in accordance with legal instructions.

  1. Changes/cancellations at the initiative of Essência da Latitude

Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. may change the conditions established in the program, i.e. it may change the order of the routes, the departure times or replace any of the accommodations provided with another category and similar location.

If unforeseen circumstances force the suspension/cancellation of any tour, customers will be entitled to a refund.

Costs already incurred by Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. are excluded from reimbursement.

  1. Impossibility of Compliance

If it is impossible to provide the essential services listed in the tour program, due to circumstances not attributable to the Essência do Latitude, Turismo Lda.The Customer has the right to withdraw from the trip and be reimbursed for the sums paid or, alternatively, to accept a different service and price change.

If such facts not attributable to Essência de Latitude, Turismo Lda. cause the trip/tour to be canceled, the client may choose to take part in another trip.

When the replacement is for a trip/tour of a lower value, the Customer will be refunded the difference.

No refund is due in respect of services which the Customer has chosen not to use and which are available to him.

  1. Changes/cancellations on the initiative of Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda.

Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. reserves the right to cancel the tour if the number of participants is less than the minimum required. In these cases, the client will be informed in writing, at least 8 days in advance in the case of the Circuits and 48 hours in advance for the One-Day and Half-Day tours, leaving Essência do Latitude, Turismo Lda. exempt from any responsibility for the cancellation.

Some monuments are closed on certain days of the week. The company avoids tours on these days. However, the monuments may close without prior notice or the excursion may take place on public holidays when the monuments may be closed, and entry to the museums is not guaranteed on these days.

  1. Changes/Cancellations at the customer’s initiative

Essência do Latitude, Turismo Lda. reserves the right to charge a fee of up to 15% of the total value of the trip/tour.

For One-Day and Half-Day tours, requests for changes must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled visit.

For Tours, requests for changes must be made at least 30 days before the scheduled visit.

Clients may withdraw from the tour at any time by writing to us, and will be entitled to a refund of the amounts paid in accordance with the terms of the Reservation Change Policy (number 14).

If the change request is made in relation to a tour that is the subject of a promotion, discount or price offer campaign, Essência do Latitude, Turismo Lda. may invalidate the promotion, discount or price offer.

  1. Cancellation Policy

a) Cancellation Notice for One-Day and Half-Day Trips

  • Se o cliente cancelar pelo menos 24 horas antes da partida programada, receberá um reembolso de 100%. Se o cliente cancelar dentro das 24 horas da data de partida programada, receberá um reembolso de 0%.
  • No show: 100% of the price. There is no refund.

b) Cancellation Notices for Tailor-Made Tours and Rides

  • Up to 2 months: 25% of the price
  • 45 days: 50% of the price
  • 30 days: 100% of the price
  • No show: 100% of the price

There will be no refund of amounts paid by the Client for necessary and already incurred expenses required for the confirmation of the tours/circuits.

  1. Complaints

Only complaints submitted in writing will be considered.

Essência da Latitude will not accept claims arising from external factors not directly related to the company, such as delays due to weather conditions, traffic, mechanical breakdowns, accidents on the road, delays caused by other customers, police operations, etc.

The company will not be held responsible for forgotten personal documents or any objects left in the vehicles.

All disputes shall be resolved in accordance with Portuguese law at the Lisbon District Court, with express waiver of any other.

  1. Insurance

As required by the legislation in force, by Decree-Law no. 108/2009, of May 15, as amended by Decree-Law no. 95/2013, of July 19, and by Decree-Law no. 186/2015, of September 3, the Tourist Entertainment activities carried out by Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. are covered by Civil Liability Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance.

  • Civil Liability Insurance – Policy no. 8105606 – Lusitânia, Companhia de Seguros SA, Rua S. Domingos à Lapa 35, 1249-130 Lisboa.
  • Personal Accident Insurance – Policy no. 204470704 – Allianz Acidentes Pessoais de Grupo, Rua Andrade Corvo, 32, 1069-014 Lisboa.

As required by current legislation, the travel agency activities carried out by Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. are covered by liability insurance.

  • Civil Liability Insurance – Policy no. 204401955 – Allianz Acidentes Pessoais de Grupo, Rua Andrade Corvo, 32, 1069-014 Lisboa.
  1. Diet

BB (Bed & Breakfast) – breakfast only;

MP (HB) – includes breakfast and dinner. Drinks are not included;

PC (full board) – includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks are not included;

All-inclusive – includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks such as water, juice and wine. Inclusions can be broader or narrower depending on the destination and hotel chain.

Any specific request from the customer regarding meals is subject to confirmation by the supplier and may involve the payment of a supplement.

Half-board or full-board trips do not include meals that correspond to flight times, transport to and from the airport, or waiting times between flights.

  1. Accommodation and timetables

The group, classification and description of the accommodation is determined by the host state. The list of hotels and apartments in the program is indicative, as is their category.

The following special rules apply to accommodation:

Apartments: it is the Clients’ responsibility to inform us of the number of people (adults and children) who will be occupying the apartment. If more people show up than booked, the reservation may be canceled and the accommodation may be refused.

Hotels: prices indicated are per person and are based on double occupancy. Not all hotels have a triple room, so you may be placed in a double room with an extra bed, which may not be of the same quality and comfort. In the case of rooms with two large beds and double beds, it is considered that, in most cases, a triple consists only of these two beds.

Timetable: rooms can normally be used from 14:00 on the day of arrival and must be vacated before 12:00 on the day of departure. Apartments are usually checked in at 5pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated before 10am on the day of departure. Keys are usually handed over at reception during normal office hours.

Pick-up time: the Client must show up 10 minutes before the scheduled time.

  1. Privacy Policy

Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. does not store personal data.

All personal data is processed lawfully and exclusively for the specified purposes, reservations, invoicing and operations necessary to carry out our tours.

The customer’s personal data will not be shared with third parties, except in situations where we have to use service companies and only if this sharing of data is absolutely necessary to carry out the requested activity.

  1. Communications

Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. only sends its clients emails that are necessary for clarification or exchange of information required for the booking/realization of tours. Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. does not store any personal data on the agency’s website.

  1. Closing days

Essência da Latitude, Turismo Lda. is closed on December 25, January 1 and Easter Day.
